Description

PRINTABLE RELEASE COAT FOR PP ADHESIVE TAPES.
RELEASE ST3 is a new compound based on polyamidic resins in solvent (solvents: isopropylalcohol, octane), to be applied on the reverse side of an opp film treated on both sides, in order to obtain low noise printable opp tapes which can be printed with one pass (like PVC) using suitable inks such as our COLOR INK PP.
Solvents: isopropylalcohol, octane.

Application

Before use, RELEASE ST3 must be well stirred when perfectly liquid and warm. Temperature of product should never be below 20°C before application (preferably between 40-50°C).
Dilution: 1 PP with 15 of toluene isopropylalcohol 1 : 1.
The final solution will be applied on treated PP film of 32 - 35 micron (38-42 dines/cm) for 4-5 g/sqm.
Coating must be perfectly dried and adhesive must retain less than 0,6/sqm of residual solvent.

Technical Specifications

Handling

PP tapes coated with RELEASE ST3 can be easily printed in a one step process.
However, the printing machine must have certain adjustments (we suggest to contact SIAT for the best setting up), viz.: the large cylinder (opposite to the printing rolls) must be heated at minimum 40 - 50°C. Before printing, a felt must brush off the surface very well. After printing, a good drying and cooling action must be provided by efficient fans.
We also have a proper range of polyamidic inks (PP COLOR INKS) designed for this process. We can sell them together with ADDITIVE ST2, an additive that can be added to the inks (100 pp. of ink with 50 - 70 pp. of ADDITIVE ST2 and 80 - 100 pp. for black ink) before printing.
Other suitable inks will be available in local markets. However, preliminary tests must be carried out with ADDITIVE ST2 to determine the best amount to add.

Packing

50 / 200 liter metal drums.
