CRUDE MDI 30I is a diisocyanate (MDI), used as a crosslinking agent for polyols (polyethers, polyesters), polyurethanes, elastomers (natural rubber, chloroprene,...)

Suggested concentration of CRUDE MDI 30I:
1% on solvent based primer for PP or PVC tapes
0.3 - 0.5% for adhesives
These quantities have to be verified with sperimental tests. Consider that an higher percentage of CRUDE MDI 30I causes a decrease on peel adhesion values.
As the curing process starts immediately after addiction of CRUDE MDI 30I, it is necessary to use the product within 24 hours.
Pot life is usually 24 hours, but it depends on concentration and temperature.
CRUDE MDI 30I is supplied in 25 kg lacquer lined steel drums.
Isocyanates react with water including atmospheric moisture liberating carbon dioxide, which can lead to excessive pressure in closed containers, and forming solid insoluble polyureas, which can block pipes, valves, etc.
As basic essential in storage, sampling and handling is the prevention of contact with water or a moist atmosphere. Contact with copper alloys must also be avoided and valves, etc. made of these materials must not be used in equipment for storing and handling isocyanates.
CRUDE MDI 30I drums should be stored in dry conditions at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C, preferable in the unopened original containers.
Drums should not be exposed to flames or other direct sources of heat: if stored to the open, they should not be left in direct sunlight.
Minimum storage temperature 10°C
Maximum storage temperature 30°C
Maximum recommended storage time 6 months
