RELEASE K 100 H is a high molecular weight synthetic polymer in powder form. When in solution, it is a very efficient release agent for tapes with an excellent resistance to heat and humidity.
Its particular chemical structure guarantees a perfect anchorage to polyolefinic film.
The product is completely silicone free.
Product appearance: White to light yellowish fine powder.
RELEASE K 100 H can be used on corona treated as well as on untreated films.
Concentration of the solution prepared for the coating ranges from 0.5% to 3% solids, depending upon film type, coating equipment and desired release effect.
RELEASE K 100 H is soluble in aromatic and aliphatic solvents, recommended aromatic solvent is toluene, while for aliphatic solvents we recommend octane/ethanol or heptane/isopropyl alcohol at 3/1.
In order to achieve a continuous and homogenous coating it is absolutely necessary that the solution is kept at a temperature above 35°C during the whole process.
Slowly add RELEASE K 100 H to solvents under continuous stirring, at a temperature between 40 and 50°C. Handle with care since the solvent is flammable.
The product is supplied in fibre drums (20 kg).
RELEASE K 100 H can be stored safely at almost all normal temperatures below its melting point. When in solution, it must be stored at temperatures not below 20-25°C to prevent gelification. In case of partial or total solidification, stir well and heat up to 40-50 °C. The product will return completely fluid.
Do not coat if the solution is not completely clear or if solid particles can be seen. The solution must be handled with care due to the presence of solvent (avoid inhalation, skin contact and flame presence).
Use within 24 months from production date (unopened and in the original packaging).
RELEASE K 100 H may be used as a release agent in adhesive sealing tape for indirect food-contact applications.
