THICKENER PU 3 dissolves rather slowly. It is recommended to prepare a concentrated solution at 25-50%, by dissolving it in water at 60-70°C. The stock solution is then perfectly miscible in cold water.
The quantity to be used depends upon the final desired viscosity range. The recommended quantities are between 0.5% and 5%. It is advisable to arrange it with small quantitives.
It is stable in an alkaline medium, whereas it is coagulated by acids (especially mineral acids).
It's compatible with vinyl acrylic copolymers, but it is incompatible with certain homopolymers and copolymers of vinyl chloride, vinylidene and also with SBR.
It is insensitive to UV rays and doesn't turn yellow, nor becomes brittle, nor undergoes oxidation.
The product is supplied in plastic tanks (10 kg); Plastic drum (50 kg); Cardboard boxes (180 kg).
Product must be stored at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
It cristallizes at 0°C but reverts to its normal appearance and its properties by reheating under stirring at 20°C.
Keep the containers well closed and protected from heat and direct sunlight.
Use within 12 months from production date (unopened and in the original packaging).
