RELEASE W 40 HS 5 is a waterborne release agent based on synthetic SBR polymers compouded with additives that impart good water repellency and printability to the substrates.
RELEASE W 40 HS 5 has been designed as a release agent for porous substrates, like Kraft paper, masking papers, non wovens, fabrics, which are supposed to be in contact with hot-melt, natural rubber and acrylic adhesives.

Quantity to apply depends on substrate porosity: from 3 to 5 g dry/sqm (on coated paper we suggest 3g dry/sqm). Coating heads: Meyer bar, Reverse Roll, Roto gravure, Air knife. When necessary, the product can be thickened with an acrylic thickener, or diluted.
We recommend to heat the product up at 150°C for a few seconds, so to grant the highest releasing properties and especially water repellency. Anyway, results are still good (but lower) at lower temperatures.
Ageing properties are excellent.
The paper tapes coated with this release agent can be printed with either water based inks (such as our COLOR INK WK series) or solvent based inks (such as our COLOR INK NK series).
The product is supplied in iron drums (200 kg); IBC containers (1000 kg).
Despite a good freeze-thaw stability, keep material preferably at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C, avoid direct sunlight.
When stored for over one month it is necessary to stir the product for 10 - 15 minutes before use.
Use within 9 months from production date (unopened and in the original packaging).
We can supply different viscosity range on request.
