RELEASE W 40 HS4 is a water-based release agent based on synthetic SBR polymers compouded with additives that impart a high water repellency.
RELEASE W 40 HS4 has been designed as a release agent for porous substrates, like Kraft paper, masking papers, non wovens, fabrics, which are supposed to be in contact with hot-melt, natural rubber and acrylic adhesives.
Method of analysis | MU | Standard | |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Total Solids | % | 40±1 |
3 | Brookfield Viscosity 25°C | mPa.s | 500 - 1,000 |
8 | pH | pH | 7 - 9 |
Solvents | water |
Quantity to apply depends on substrate porosity: from 3 to 5 g dry/sqm (on coated paper we suggest 3 g dry/sqm). Methods: Meyer bar, Reverse Roll, Roto gravure, Air knife.
It can be either thickened (acrylic thickeners) or diluted.
It is advised to heat the product for a few seconds at 150°C in order to achieve the highest properties of releasing and hydrophobicity. However results are good (but inferior) also at lower temperatures. Ageing properties are excellent.
Despite a good freeze-thaw stability, keep material preferably at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C, avoid direct sunlight.
When stored for over one month it is necessary to stir the product for 10 - 15 minutes before use.
Use within 9 months from production date (unopened and in the original packaging).
