Code of Conduct

Introduction

ICHEMCO SRL manufactures and markets chemical products for industry, particularly for the pressure-sensitive adhesives, adhesives, textile, leather, and rubber/plastics sectors. All work processes are conducted in a way that reflects the company’s commitment to carrying out its activities in full compliance with current legislation and guided by essential principles of fairness and honesty. This is the standard of conduct our customers expect from us. This document sets out specific values and principles that ICHEMCO SRL is committed to upholding in all countries where it operates. The Code establishes certain non-negotiable minimum standards that we intend to respect and follow in the conduct of our business.

Principles of Conduct

Compliance with Laws and Regulations
For ICHEMCO SRL, compliance with the law is a fundamental tool for achieving its objectives and for ensuring added value to its activities. Therefore, ICHEMCO SRL will not initiate or continue any relationship with anyone who does not intend to adhere to this principle.
Integrity of Behavior
ICHEMCO SRL is inspired by the principles of Social Responsibility in protecting its customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, and therefore makes every effort to ensure the quality of its services and the transparency of its behavior in the market.
Rejection of Any Discrimination
ICHEMCO SRL avoids all discrimination based on age, gender, sexuality, health status, race, nationality, political opinions, and religious beliefs.
Valuing Human Resources
ICHEMCO SRL believes human resources represent its main capital and therefore invests in staff training and ensures a healthy and safe work environment that facilitates task execution and enhances professional skills. It also ensures involvement and accountability regarding specific objectives and methods to achieve them.
Professional Conduct
Each person acting in the interest of or on behalf of ICHEMCO SRL performs their duties with diligence, efficiency, and fairness, making the best use of tools and time available and assuming responsibility for their tasks. The Safety and Prevention Measures adopted by ICHEMCO SRL for Occupational Health and Safety are primary obligations of its collaborators, who actively participate in their application, management, maintenance, and improvement and commit to taking full responsibility for achieving the set objectives, being aware of the consequences of poor management for ICHEMCO SRL and their colleagues.
Loyalty, Honesty, Fairness
Everyone working for ICHEMCO SRL is required to know and diligently comply with the company’s organizational model and current laws, ensuring full transparency of their actions and behavior. Under no circumstances can pursuing the interests of ICHEMCO SRL justify behavior that contradicts these principles. Employees may not use information, assets, or equipment for personal purposes or accept or engage in activities that may harm ICHEMCO SRL or provide undue benefits to themselves, ICHEMCO SRL, or third parties. In particular, anyone acting on behalf of ICHEMCO SRL must respect confidentiality and may not disclose any facts, information, or news related to ICHEMCO SRL or its clients.
Conflict of Interest Resolution
Personnel must pursue the general objectives and interests of ICHEMCO SRL in their professional activities. Each person must promptly inform their superiors of any situation or activity in which a conflict of interest with ICHEMCO SRL might arise, either directly or involving close family members, or in any situation where there are significant reasons for concern. Employees must respect decisions made by ICHEMCO SRL regarding these situations.

Corporate Behavior Standards

Non-Discrimination Principle
ICHEMCO SRL does not apply discriminatory practices in recruitment or job assignments based on race, color, religion, sex, age, physical ability, nationality, or sexual orientation.
Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining
Unless otherwise restricted by government authorities, the company guarantees its employees the right to freely associate and enter into collective agreements.

Sustainability

ICHEMCO SRL supports and encourages operational practices and energy-saving behaviors aimed at reducing fossil fuel consumption, wherever applicable and sustainable.

Labor Standards

Prison and Forced Labor
ICHEMCO SRL declares that it does not and will not use or benefit from forced or compulsory labor in any form. Similarly, labor under any form of debt bondage is prohibited, as are physical punishment, imprisonment, threats of violence, or other forms of harassment or abuse as a method of discipline or control. ICHEMCO SRL does not engage service providers who use unpaid or bonded labor, nor does it contract with subcontractors who adopt such practices or use such facilities. Only work performed by individuals involved in officially recognized prison rehabilitation programs is considered acceptable under this Policy.
Child Labor
The use of child labor by the company or any third party is strictly prohibited. Child labor refers to activities that are mentally, physically, socially, or morally harmful or dangerous to children, or that interfere with their education.
Working Hours
ICHEMCO SRL ensures that employees work within the limits established by applicable laws and mandatory industrial standards regarding hours and workdays.
Compensation
ICHEMCO SRL employees receive wages and benefits in compliance with current laws and binding collective agreements, including those regarding overtime and bonuses.

Health and Safety

Quality and Safety of Services
All services provided by ICHEMCO SRL comply with the quality and safety standards required by current regulations. Service quality procedures comply with the principles of UNI EN ISO 9001, which the company applies and recognizes as its operational standard. ICHEMCO SRL obtained ISO 9001 certification in 1997 from an internationally accredited body.
Work Environment – Employee Health and Safety
ICHEMCO SRL ensures a safe and healthy working environment for its employees, and, where applicable, safe living conditions. The following are guaranteed: drinking water, adequate sanitary facilities, emergency exits and safety devices, emergency medical care, and properly lit and equipped workstations. All facilities are built and maintained according to relevant building codes and regulations. Ongoing training is provided to ensure that all employees maintain high levels of hazard awareness and know how to take the necessary prevention and protection measures.
The company has been ISO 45001 certified since June 2020.

Environment

ICHEMCO SRL operates with respect for the environment and guarantees compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in countries where its products and services are provided.
The company has been ISO 14001 certified since November 2005.

Alcohol and Drug Use Policy

Employees and external collaborators (such as transporters, commercial representatives, professional partners) working for ICHEMCO SRL must be in proper physical and mental condition to carry out their work effectively. This includes:

  • a strict ban on the consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or drugs during work or lunch breaks
  • a prohibition on reporting to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • an obligation for every employee or external collaborator to report any misuse of alcohol or drugs
Any employee caught in violation will be subject to disciplinary action as provided for in the employment contract and will be asked to leave the workplace immediately, pending further decisions from Management. External collaborators and service providers found not complying with this policy will be removed from the company’s list of approved partners.

Internal Audit

The Management of ICHEMCO SRL reserves the right to verify, through internal audits, compliance with this Code by employees, collaborators, and suppliers. If non-compliant actions or conditions are detected, ICHEMCO SRL has the right and duty to request corrective measures. Furthermore, the company reserves the right to terminate contracts with any party that fails to comply with the Code.
